6 Workplace To Stop Operation, 52 Employer Fined For Breaching SOP

The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) has been continuing their effort to counter this pandemic with inspection close to 1,000 workplaces as a part of their enforcement operation on June 16.

With their operation, six workplaces were ordered to cease operation as their work of nature can actually be able to work from home. Meanwhile, 52 employers have been fined for failing to comply with the SMM as reported by MOM on June 15.

The requirements of SMM details are:
- Regular checks for temperature and respiratory symptoms
- Using the SafeEntry visitor management system for employees and visitors
- Requiring employees to wear masks
- Staggered work hours and lunch breaks
- Cleaning and sanitizing regimes
- Ensuring that employees do not socialise or congregate in groups
Therefore, MOM is strictly advising to all employers and workers to consistently ensure good practices to ensure the safety of public and working place arrangements.
