Singtel, M1, Starhub Pick Ericsson and Nokia For S’pore 5G Networks
on 24 June, Wednesday, Singapore’s telecom operators have chosen Ericsson AB and Nokia Oyj to build the infrastructure of the 5G network in Singapore.
Singtel Mobile Singapore Pte Ltd (Singtel) picked Ericsson as their provider with a joint venture consortium between StarHub Mobile Pte Ltd (StarHub) and M1 Limited (M1) selected Nokia to build the network and supply the core and mmWave network.
While Huawei is TPG Telecom’s selected provider and the reason why Huawei is not selected as one of the winners of the proposal in April was due to because it will be allocated on the remaining frequency spectrum in the millimeter-wave band to roll out localized 5G networks.
