A group of volunteers on Tuesday (23 Jun), Fion Phua, founder of Keeping Hope Alive Volunteers shared her group’s attempt on helping an elderly woman in Chai Chee. Once she arrives at the doorstep, she discovered that the elder lived with her son who is unwell now and Fion started to help out the auntie with her poor condition living space together with her Keeping Hope Alive Volunteers group of 5 people.
With the help of a nurse, she checked the medicine stock and assistance for the auntie to check out for her expired medicine. While the others helped out on cleaning her house which has some expired food and disinfected most of the house especially in the kitchen and fridge area. Another helper notice that there was a glass shattered due to a ball impact from the playground downstairs, therefore they helped to remove the shattered glass and cover it back with a plastic bag. One of the volunteer also helped to trim the son’s overgrown nails too.
The Keeping Hope Alive Volunteers is a platform dedicated on helping less privileged Singaporeans to live a better life. While Fion wrote that she will hope more people will pay attention to locals who are living in such poor conditions and do all they can to help out.
