Gojek Retrench 9% on Workforce In Singapore
As the after-pandemic impact is starting to hit worst into the current economics, Indonesian start-up Gojek is confirmed that they will be cutting 430 workers mostly in Indonesia to cope with the impact of the pandemic.
However, on local news, the impact on Gojek’s team in Singapore are remained in minimal while they are now focusing on three main services which are payments, transport, and food delivery. Gojek will cancel its GOLife service which offers home services of massage and cleaning.
Gojek co-founders Kevin Aluwi and Andre Soelistyo apologized to affected employees in an e-mail on Tuesday. Mr. Aluwi added: “One of my biggest fears as a leader is failing all of you, hence that was by far the hardest moment I had at Gojek, until today.”We are sorry that this time we have failed you.”
