With the news from local news, the chef-owner Pang Kok Keong said that the rough situation from the circuit breaker period didn’t actually kill the business but instead the levy paid to the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) for its Penhas Road shophouse is increasing exponentially, and due to it is higher charges than the rent, they have reached a point whereby it is impossible for them to operate there, therefore the only left out option is to close Antoinette.
However, Pang mentioned that closing down Antoinette doesn’t mean that he will be giving up on baking, but instead he will be will opening a stall called Pang’s Hakka Noodles on the end of July, however, the process might be delay due to Covid-19 Outbreak.
Let just wish that, Pang’s passion on french-sweets treats won’t fade away and will be coming back soon in future after when the whole economics turns out to be better soon.
