A Brother Jailed 8 Months For Assaulting Mentally ill Half-Sister
A 56-year-old Singaporean Zulkefly Yusof pleaded guilty to one charge of causing hurt his half-sister Madam Mariam Yusof, 65 who has schizophrenia after assaulting her by kicking, punching and striking her with a belt.
Zulkifli, an unemployed man living in Johor Bahru return back to Singapore after Malaysia’s movement control took order earlier and begin abusing his half-sister. The assault allegedly happens between March 16 to 26 as Zulkefly repeatedly scolding and then ended up with kicking her legs and punching her on the face, and the worst was he punched her while warning a nine metal rings on his fingers which were set with various stone and gemstones.
After Mdm Mariam’s sister come to visit her after hearing on the abuse news, she discovered the injuries and bruises, she later then called the police officers and ambulances. On Tuesday (June 23), Zulkefly was sentenced in a district court to eight months’ jail.
