Wild Pangolin Spotted Along Upper Thomson Road
On Tuesday, Jun 16, a wild pangolin were spotted nearby a busy roads in Upper Thomson. These pangolins mainly reside in the Central Catchment Nature Reserve, Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, and even Bukit Batok forested areas. So it is a pretty rare sight for this pangolin to be wondering where in the roadside in Upper Thomson.
Wild Pangolin at Old Upper Thomson Road
Met this wild pangolin while running along Upper Thomson Road, near Casuarina Carpark. It had likely strayed out of the edge of Old Upper Thomson forest. The creature ended up climbing a young 4m-tall tree by the road, where it stopped for a rest. After some hesitation, I contacted ACRES Wildlife Rescue with pictures and video footage of this pangolin situated so close to heavy traffic and in potential danger. The ACRES team came within 30 minutes, and told me they had just attended to an otter roadkill earlier in the morning.I found out later the pangolin has been temporarily sent to the zoo as it has a fractured leg. It will be released back into the wild once it’s recovered. Thank you ACRES for your dedication to Singapore wildlife.#ACRES #SundaPangolin #CriticallyEndangered #SgWildlife
