Grab Retrench 360 Employees But Repay Back With Various Benefits
Due to the impact of Covid-19, more and more large corporations are seeing to have more and more difficulties in surviving after a few months of struggling.
Grab is not even sparred under this period of time too, with their recent news announced on 16 Jun, there are a total of 360 staff who were forced to be retrenched due to tough situation on the company.
Despite this, the 360 retrenched employees were all being granted various of payback and notes from the CEO to them. Several lists of extras which were provided to these staff as to aid them for the time being were:
- Severance pay – either pegged to 0.5 months per 6 months of completed service or based on local guidelines, whichever is higher
- Further separation payment of 1.5 months’ salary
- Medical insurance coverage until the end of the year
- Maternity and paternity leave encashed, for those either expecting or whose wife is
- Unused leave encashed
- Transition support to next job
- Emotional support for 3 months from the last date of employment
- Allowing them to keep their work laptop
Let just hope that, these employees will manage to land themselves a new job soon with the help provided.
