On June 9, a small black puppy was found injured lying on the road along Tampines Avenue 12. This puppy were found by a driver who happens to cross the road. Tan Han Xiang mentioned that he did not witness the puppy getting hit by a vehicle. Tan then called help from the Society for the Preventuion of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) to come and rescue the puppy.

Sadly, according to a comment by a netizen, the puppy didn’t manage to survive the whole accident as the injuries from brain trauma and spinal trauma was too much for it small body to handle.

In such case for who hits an animal, SPCA has a set of guidelines to be followed. Which are:

1. Stop your car safely.

2. Stay at the scene.

3. Contact the SPCA at 62875355 ext. 9.

4. If you intend on approaching the animal:

– Be aware of your surroundings – watch out for other cars or anything else that might put you or anyone else in danger.

– If you’re approaching an injured animal, be very careful. It will probably be very scared and might try to bite or scratch you in fear.

– If you realize you have hit someone’s pet, you may want to see if you can locate its tag to access the contact details of its owner.

SPCA is hoping for some information that can be traced from this accident so the person who hit this poor puppy can be responsible.
