Washington DC National Guard Hits Coronavirus After Protest
As the protest that erupted in front of the White House due to the case of killing African American George Floyd by a Minneapolis police officer. Around 1,700 members of the DC National Guard deployed on the scene on June 9.
DC National Guard spokeswoman Lieutenant Colonel Brooke Davis said they couldn’t reveal the number of positive tests due to operational security. While many of the protestors wore masks during the protest, many law enforcement and guard personnel were seen on duty without having a mask.
Covid-19 has claimed almost 112,000 lives in the United States since it spread started earlier this year with over 2 million cases from the United States alone.
