SOP Breaching 5 Businesses & 53 People Fined during Phase 1
According to the media release earlier, there were 5 businesses across retail, food, and manufacturing line have failed to follow the SOP on Safe Management Measure. Each was fined for $1,000 due to failure to request employees to work from home when the nature of the job is allowed to be operated at home.
While 53 individuals were fined too for $300 each during the Phase 1 period. The penalties charged were either not wearing masks, breaching the SOP on the social gathering, and leaving residence places for non-essential purposes.
The agencies also urge the public to continue to ensure the SOP is being followed and continue practising safe distancing as the first-time offender can be charged by a fine up to $10,000, jail up to 6 months, or both.
