Private-Hire Driver Jailed 8 Week For Assaulting Lorry Driver
With the amount of car and traffic building up during peak hours. It is quite normal for us to witness some arguing or quarrel between car drivers especially when both don’t want to give way to each other.
Last year Nov 28, Chua Chee Beng a private-hired car driver faked a whole quarrel by hitting himself in his face and abdomen after he assaulted a lorry driver at his neck and head for taking and recording his picture during the quarrel. The whole incident happens when Chua was angry on victim for sounding his horn towards him as Chua is getting so close to colliding with his lorry, as then both drivers parked their car at the road shoulder and the pair begin arguing there.
On Tuesday, June 9, Chua 48-year-old was sentenced to eight weeks’ jail with a penalty of $668.25 in compensation for the victim’s medical fees and loss in income. During the court hearing, Chua pleaded guilty for hurting the 40-year-old lorry driver.
