Member of Parliament for MacPherson, Tin Pei Ling Clarifies $23,225 of Covid-19 Relief Per Capita
During the debate in Parliament on June 4, Tin Pei Ling, Member of Parliament for MacPherson mentioned that the government is helping Singaporean and local businesses on better relief during this Covid-19 periods.
Tin, said on her Facebook that if we look on per citizen or PR, Singapore tops at the chart at S$23,225 per capita. Japan is next at $21,335 per capita followed by 3rd is The United States at $12,765 per capita.
She explained further that these figures are “coarse estimation” and she got commented on Facebook that this calculation may not be the best representing the monetary relief received by each citizen. In a response by Tin, she mentioned that her intention is to show how much the Singapore government has put in to help Singaporeans to go through this crisis. Tin, also mentioned that the figure is just a rough estimate.
