Singapore To Develop More Gardens & Park By 2030 by adding 1 Million Trees
Second Minister for National Development, Desmond Lee on Wednesday (Mar 4), announced a new stage of urban planning for the National Parks Board (NParks) which are unveiling plans to create a 6km of green connections linking the Singapore Botanic Gardens to the Singapore Rivers.
With this project, it will transform Singapore into a City in Nature providing Singaporeans with a much better quality of life with flora and fauna of this island. With this 200ha of nature parks, it will provide rich sources into adding a better solution towards our native biodiversity and wildlife in long run.
As the current nature parks being established around Bukit Timah and Central Catchment Nature Reserves. Members of the public can use this space for nature-based recreation such as hiking, jogging, and bird watching.
NParks said that they wanted to create a whole new generation of Singaporeans to carry these responsibilities to keep planting and nurturing trees for the benefits of future Singaporeans. With the help of organization include Friends of the Park community, a community in Nature Schools, Comunity in Bloom gardening groups, the National University of Singapore (NUS), JTC, OCBC and Shimizu will certainly help out in this project.
