Under The New Act, Citizens Now Can Be Fined $5,000 For Feeding Wildlife Including Pigeon
As we have always been hearing news about animal cruelty or animal abuse happening every where. But be aware as, you might get fined with a hefty $5,000 fine for feeding wild innocent pigeons on the streets today.
Currently, feeding pigeon are punishable under a $500 fine under Animals and Birds Act. But with the recent latest regulation updates, which falls under the categories of feeding wildlife will be fined up to $5,000 for the first offence. For repeat offences, you may be fined up to $10,000.
So, please be more aware when you are trying to feed these wildlife and pigeons. But this “New Act” does not apply to domestic species such as cats and dogs. While the penalties for killing, trapping or keeping wildlife is also can be fined up to $50,000, jail term up to 2 years, or both.
