12 Death Cases From Dengue Infection in Singapore Within 2020
During this outbreak of Covid-19, National Environment Agency (NEA) is reported that Singapore may face the highest case infections so far on 2020. As the recent 735 cases were reported within last week of May itself, which is the highest record so far in five years.
The total records of dengue cases this year has been reported to exceed the 15,998 cases from 2019 and might surpass the highest record ever from 2013 which is 22,170 cases. From the recent case of deaths tol from dengue cases. 12 people who has died after getting infected are reported from age between 56 to 80 years old.
The reason for this increasing dengue infection may come from several factors. As reported from NEA, which few of the reason might be the warmer months on May, and most of people are staying at home during this circuit breaker moment.
So far, NEA has been releasing sterile male mosquitoes as a prevention matter to control the birth rate of more mosquitoes. Which will indeed help to reduce the mosquito population.
