Source from yahoo news – In a media release on Thursday (23 April), the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) has reminded employers to treat all their employees fairly and responsibly, regardless of nationality.
MOM has received complaints of unpaid salaries by companies during the current elevated safe distancing period to curb the spread of COVID-19. Some employees were also allegedly threatened with termination if they report such issues to MOM.
Aside from that, the government has also announced that they will extend the Job Support Scheme wage of 75% for all sector for the month of May 2020.
For employers of S Pass or Work Permit holders will also receive an additional FWL rebate of $750 for each worker employed as of 1 May and waiver of FWL due in May. This is to help them continue paying the salaries of our migrant workers.
