It’s announced by the Education Minister Ong Ye Kung on Tuesday (21st Apr) that the mid-year school holidays will start earlier from May 5 to substitute for the entire extended circuit breaker until June 1.
The revised school term dates will be as below:
- May 5 to June 1: School holidays
- June 2: Start of Term 3
- July 20-26: Mid-term break
- Sept 6: End of Term 3
He made announcement this on his Facebook post “By 1 Jun 2020, hopefully the situation will be much better, and we can look forward to a safe and orderly opening of schools,”
“This would mean that Term 3 will be very long. So we will factor in an additional one week, mid-term break from 20-26 July. Term 3 will comprise 7 weeks, one week break and then 6 weeks. Most teachers will use the break to review or re-plan their lessons,” he added.
