Botak Jones, Well-Known Western Restaurant is making a comeback with a new location in Bukit Merah

Most people think of Big Bern’s American Grill and Botak Jones when they think of inexpensive, generously portioned Western food.  Both were created by Bernard Utchenik, better known as Bernie.

“One of my favourite western food vendors has always been Botak Jones,” most of the foodies said.

Botak Jones, a Singapore western cuisine franchise created by Bernard “Bernie” Allen Utchenik, is likely to be recognisable to people born in the 1980s and early 1990s.

Botak Jones is recognised for its large portions of substantial western food, especially its Cajun Chicken and crinkle-cut fries with such a unique spice combination. According to Wikipedia, there were 11 Botak Jones stores around the island in 2009.

Botak Jones is coming back shortly. Earlier this week, the creator of Botak Jones teased about the new outlet by posting a snapshot of the Botak Jones signboard that followers are acquainted with.

Big Bern’s American Grill may have shuttered its Timbre+ and Gluttons Bay locations a few months ago, and Botak Jones has also closed all of its locations, but Bernard will reopen on June 14 with a new stall called The Original Botak Jones.

According to a Facebook posting on Thursday, the new restaurant will be located inside Yue Hua Eating House at 118 Depot Lane (June 10).

Bernard indicated that he, his wife, and “two very considerate yet powerful partners” will lead the new venture. People are expecting the Return of Bernie & Zee.

While the menu has yet to be confirmed, the stall has been uploading photos of famous Botak Jones meals such as steak, Cajun chicken, and Cajun chilli cheese fries.

People are hoping that the famous Stuffed Jalapenos, which are created with jalapeos stuffed with mozzarella cheese, covered in Japanese bread crumbs, then deep-fried to perfection, will return to the menu.
