Good News as Tuas & Woodlands Checkpoint Toll Fees to Be Reduced!

by Brian Chan February 10, 2020

Never been a better news than this! If you’re driving, then you can expect to pay lesser toll charges at Woodlands and Tuas checkpoints in less than a months time!

Why? It was announced by the Land Transport Authority on Sunday that the toll charges for these three vehicles at the Woodlands and Tuas checkpoint will be reduced beginning 2 March 2020 – as per reported by Straits Times.

In case you didn’t know, the LTA didn’t do this out of the blue but this move is to response to Malaysia’s move to reduce the toll charges for cars, buses and taxis at the Sultan Iskandar Building Toll Plaza (Causeway) and Tanjung Kupang Toll Plaza (Second Link) where Malaysia has set to motion this reduction since 1st February. Now it’s the Singapore turn.

But how much will it be reduced?

At the Woodlands, the initial toll charge for cars was $1 and it will set to be reduced to 80 cents, while toll charges for taxis will be reduced from 50 cents to 40 cents. For the bus wise, toll charges will be reduced from 80 cents to 60 cents.

On the other side at Tuas Checkpoint, cars will enjoy reduced toll charges from $2.50 to $2.10 during peak hours and $1.30 and $1.10 during off-peak hours. Taxi wise, the toll charges will be reduced from $1.90 during peak hours to $1.60 and $1 during off-peak hours to 80 cents and for buses, it will be reduced from $3 during peak hours to $2.50 and $1.50 during off-peak hours to $1.20.

So would say that this is really a good news for those who drives. Make sure you share this out with your friends too and let them know of this good news!
