During the pandemic time, food has become an essential thing for those who are in need. A taxi operator from ComfortDelGro shared on Facebook about a passenger’s experience of receiving a free packet of Hokkien mee from Lim on May 22. The passenger Grace Tan has boarded his taxi at midnight on Mar 13 and was greeted by the aroma of the Hokkien mee that he just bought. Which, she said the fragrant noddles smell is so nice and Lim responded if she was hungry but she did not think much at the first. Upon arriving at her destination, Lim offered her a packet of Hokkien mee.

At first, she declined it but he insisted and she was surprised by his kindness and generosity especially during this Covid-19 pandemic. It turns out that Lim is buying supper home for his family and he occasionally will order extra portions in the event if he happens to meet someone who is in need of food. The 59-year-old think of it as a small gesture and just happy to share it.
