Previously we have reported that the government will be giving away free masks but it’s till 9th Feb which is yesterday. Good news for those who haven’t collected, here is a good news for you as the collection date has being extended!
This is part of the initiative from the government over the Coronavirus to ease the shortage of masks in Singapore.
The mask distribution was suppose began on Feb. 1, 2020 and was originally expected to end today (Feb. 9) but due to many haven’t gotten yet thus the People’s Association (PA) has made an announcement that the deadline for the mask collection will be extended till Feb. 29, 2020.
In case you wanna know the statistic, as of Feb. 8, 54 per cent of the 1.37 million households have collected the masks from 89 Community Clubs (CCs) and 654 Residents’ Committee (RC) centres and once the deadline ends, all remaining masks will be returned to the national stockpile.
Wondering how to collect the masks? The masks comes with a total of four in one sealed bag and it can be collected only once for each household. The only condition is that those who are collecting the masks must bring along their identity card.
To find out which CC or RC you should be collecting from, head over to the Maskgowhere website. The other thing that you need to specific is that you would need to input your postal code and the necessary details will be provided.
Singaporeans can also call 1800-333-9999 if they have questions about the mask collection. The masks will be delivered to those who are vulnerable and cannot collect them.
