With the newly implemented Phase 2 of Heightened Alert of F&B Business where there might be much sadder news for those who are already just recovering. Therefore, one breakfast cafe in Chinatown which specializes in Taiwanese breakfast and brunch is now offering a free meal for those who are in need.

From 17 May to 22 May, Gatao Taiwan Breakfast will be giving away 100 takeaway bowls of either oyster mee sua or lu rou fan to elder people and those who are struggling during this pandemic period for free from 2pm to 6pm each day. The mee sua is vermicelli noodles that is commonly served with oyster to create the popular Taiwanese street food Oyster Vermicelli Noodles (S$5.90). While the lu rou fan is known as Taiwanese Braised Pork Rice, Lu Rou Fan (S$6.90) is an extremely popular Taiwanese dish that has braised fatty pork, half braised egg and side vegetables dish.

This promotion is available for each person per one bowl of either one from 2pm to 6pm each day until May 22. They are prepared to give away a total of 600 free bowls during the giveaway period to help the elderly, disable and others who are in need during these tough times.
Other that they also selling some famous Taiwanese food such as Pork Belly Bun (S$3.50), egg crepes (starting at S$3) which you can choose your choice of filling such as cheese (S$3.90), pork floss (S$4.90), and tuna (S$5.90). Plus there are Milk Tea (S$2.90), Black Sugar Milk Tea (S$3.80), or Special Taiwan Breakfast Drink ($3).
