M’sian Man Looking to Rent a Room in S’pore And Found an Offer of $550 Which Turns Out to Be a Partition Space

A man from Malaysia was looking for a bedroom to rent in Khatib and he found one offer of $550 monthly. Fvyn Hedkandee who he shared on a Facebook group on May 8 stated that the 25-year-old man plans to move into Singapore this coming July and is looking to rent a bedroom where he found an offer near Khatib MRT. But he was shocked that the offer he gets from a landlord was a partitioned area for $550 with utilities and air conditioning included.
A few hours later, the landlord sent a photo over showing a space within the apartment area partitioned by curtains. IN response from some Facebook commenters expressed amusement at the set up calling it sickbay while some others said that it the resemblance to a dressing room. Other also advised to him to report this to the Housing & Development Board (HDB) where only bedrooms which are originally constructed by HDB can be rented out, other parts of the flat including partitioned room cannot be used a bedroom for tenants.
