With the recent increase of Covid-19 numbers, all sporting activities are now limited to groups of no more than five people starting from May 8 until May 30. Each individual in each group should also maintain a distance of two metres from each other. Organised programmes and classes can still be held with multiple groups of five-person but the maximum number of participants allowed is capped at 30 people only.
Meanwhile, for the capacity for all sport and physical activities and facilities, it will also be reduced to one person per 10 square meres from one person per eight square metres and the number of people allowed to enter the facility will also be capped at 50 only.
All high-risk sports and exercise environments that are indoor will be temporarily closed such as indoor fitness studios, gyms, and yoga and pilates studios. The measures apply to all such venues, regardless of whether they are under commercial enterprises, national sports associations, country clubs, golf clubs, private apartments, condominiums or charities.
Other live spectator sports event, sports competitions and tournaments will be subject to approval before they can proceed and no spectators will be allowed at any sports events or competition. While large outdoor classes at places such as parks or HDB common areas can still continue if they have approved.
However, class sizes will be capped at 30 and include participants, the instructor, and any assistants, subject to the venue capacity limit. In the case of country clubs, they are allowed to treat different parts of their premises.
