Young S’pore GrabFood Rider Need $100,000 Medical Help After Serious Accident As Family Seeking Donations

A Grabfood delivery rider in Singapore was badly injured after a serious accident along Toh Guan Road and his family is seeking public donations to pay for the hefty medical bills which are currently skyrocketed to more than $100,000. In the Facebook post where the injured rider’s elder brother Elfy Andriann also revealed that there will be a long-lasting impact on the accident towards his younger brother as there are fractures on the skull area.
His younger brother, Mohammed Ali, was out delivering food on Saturday, April 10 about 8.40 pm when the accident occurred along Toh Guan Road towards Bukit Batok. Where Ali just started delivering food on a bicycle earlier and later learned how to ride a motorcycle and even acquiring his license.
Ali sustained a critical injury to his head where he has multiple serious injuries, numerous broken bones in his shin, spine, ribs, and both hips. And he has to rush into brain surgery due to the impact caused by the accident and Ali also suffered from bleeding in the brain and the impact causes his brain to shift to one side. His right and also injured as three major veins had snapped and the neurosurgeons had to perform a craniectomy which involving the removal of a part of the skull to release pressure and relieve blood clots in the brain.
Ali was warded in the Intensive Care unit for 10 days which he was in a coma for seven days and he woke up on the eighth day and later transferred into another ward after his condition was monitored for two days. The medical bill at this sage has skyrocketed to $100,000 and is expected to increase some more. The neurosurgeon also recommended cranioplasty procedures to replace his skull with a new artificial skull and this procedure is estimated to cost between S$15,000 and S$30,000 or more and will help reconstruct the injury-impacted areas of Ali’s head, which has caused his physical appearance to change.
