The Indonesian Submarine which went missing on April 21 has been found and all the crew members on board had died. The wreckage of the missing submarine was located on the seafloor off Bali Island where 53 crew members were onboard the submarine were all dead. The submarine was conducting a torpedo drill near the north of Bali on Wednesday but then failed to relay the results then the contact with the vessel was reportedly lost at 4.30 am on April 21.
Assitance in search for the submarine and missing crew members was sought from Singapore and Australia and the Singapore Navy deployed the MV Swift Rescue on the afternoon of April 21 where the crew was accompanied by a medical team in the event. The Indonesian Navy said on April 22 that a possible blackout during the static dive could have caused the submarine to lose control and emergency procedures could not be carried out. More parts from the vessel were also retrieved, including an anchor and safety suits worn by crew members, they said. “There were parts of KRI Nanggala 402 — it was broken into three pieces,” said Navy Chief of Staff ADM Yudo Margono.
