A 38-year-old man named Slamet “Yoga” Wahyudi from Brebes Regency, Central Java has chosen the name of “Dinas Komukasi Informatika Statistik” for his son after he somehow managed to convince his wife to let him name the baby if it turned out to be a boy. If you’re not familiar with the language, the baby’s name directly translates to “Department of Informatics and Statistical Communication” in Bahasa Indonesia and represents the civil service section that Wahyudi has worked at for the past 17 years.
Wahyudi said that the name did sound strange at first but among the friend and family there are mixed feelings regarding the baby’s strange name. Other than this, there are other weird names that appear in the country in the past such as a man who was named Batman bin Suparman whose passport snapshot becomes a famous meme on the internet.
Also, who could possibly forget the offspring of Elon Musk and Grimes, which they named X Æ A-12 but is supposedly pronounced as “X Ash Archangel”. With baby names becoming so outlandish and absurd, it’s also no surprise that some governments are outright banning certain names in the hopes that parents stick with more sensible naming conventions for their children, like naming their son Cornelius or something decent like that.
