Mum Pass Away Due to Heart Failure After Giving Birth to 5th Child, Neighbours Raise Fund To help Out

A mother in Singapore suffered heart failure and pass away suddenly after just one month of giving birth to her fifth child. Su leaves behind her husband, Joe, and five young children aged seven to two months old. Joe now has to juggle his roles as the sole breadwinner and both parents of the family. According to Give.Asia, his income as a Safety Coordinator is barely enough to cover the monthly expenses of his five children where the expenses of formula milk, diapers, and also he needs to provide his eldest son on special school due to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

While the school fees are still free, Joe still needs to pay for the school bus transport fee and he can’t take as many shifts as he used to can which he needs to take time to take care of his children. The family is receiving government assistance and school fees are currently free for the eldest child while the children also receive medical subsidies.

After hearing the sad news of Joe and his children, Joe’s neighbours have come together to start a fundraiser for the family with their monthly expenditure. The funds will also go towards purchasing educational insurance for his children at $10,000 each until they are 21 years old. So far the fundraiser has gained more than $14,000.
