source Lianhe Wanbao.
Two neighbors in Yishun have been having a dispute for over the past five years where these two residents of Blk 346 Yishun Ave 11 claim that they were being surveilled by other party thanks to the use of CCTVs or hidden cameras. Neighbour A, a retiree which claimed that her neighbor has installed a pinhole camera in the corridor and she said that her son has purportedly returned from work one day to see their neighbor installing a pinhole camera directed at their house door which prompted them to put up a red cloth to block their house from being filmed.
However, neighbor B denied the pinhole camera and said it has been a misunderstanding which they explained that their son is not installing a camera but only clearing some old wires in the corridor and their further claimed that it was neighbor A who had installed a CCTV first to keep an eye on them.
Both parties have gone to the police multiple times, and have said that they would sue each other in court. Currently, those needing help with a neighbor dispute can turn to community mediation at the Community Mediation Centre (CMC), or commence further legal proceedings at the Community Disputes Resolution Tribunal (CDRT). The CDRT is something of a court to settle neighborly nuisance or conflict.
