Grab Driver With Green Lights Hits A Sudden Dash Out Cyclist Which Leads to One week Income Lost and Repairment
Recently a video of a driver’s dashcam showed that a Grab driver collided with a cyclist when the light is green for the driver which sparked some controversy on the internet where the incident happens as a grab driver were slowly approached a traffic light junction as the light turn green, a cyclist suddenly appear from the right side of the lane which is totally blocked by a bus.
The video were uploaded on Mar 29 and it has been circulating online, with comments mostly supporting the driver saying that the cyclist had run a amber light and he is also in the driver blind spot. And on the video, the cyclist were somehow running yellow light, while the driver is confirmed to continue driving forward after the light has turned green.
After the collision, the cyclist stood up and walk over to the pavement near Ion Orchard and the cyclist was taken to the hospital after the driver called for an ambulance for him. The driver on other hand has to bear the repair cost to get the car running again and also he will lose a week worth of income while the car was being repaired. The car was rented from a rental company and the driver hope that his insurance can cover the losses but it is uncertain o how the process will goes. This incident somehow show that how much limited protection driver has on the road.
