Singapore has a new e-waste recycling company, TES B, which is opened by e-waste recycling company TES. This newest multi-million dollar, state-of-the-art facilities will be able to recycle lithium batteries to recover the precious metals like nickel, lithium and cobalt. With the capability of recycling 14 tonnes a day which is equivalent to 280,000 lithium-ion smartphone battery.

The technology can be recovered of 90 per cent of precious metal and yields a purity level of almost 99 per cent. Where the metals recovered will be commercially ready for reused for fresh battery productions.
The recovery process is also a closed loop which is the first of this kind in the world and also environmentally friendly as they do not release any secondary contaminants like heavy metals or pollutant like volatile organic compounds (VOCs) into the atmosphere.
This facility will also help to increase the capacity of the recycling lithium – ion batteries in Singapore.
