Famous Kway Chap Stall Still Runs By 89yo Woman With Her two Son

The Covent Garden Kway Chap has been around for 57 years and it serves a variety of braised pig innards including pig stomach and intestine. The owner, Chua Meow Ching, 89 years old can be found still managing and busying around at her stall located at Havenlock Road Food Centre.
The stall which opens from 6am until they sell out around lunchtime is open from Tuesday to Saturday and they usually will close around 1 pm. They kway chap is simple and tasty and Chua, is a friendly and well-loved by all her regular customer.
She has six children and she becomes a hawker to help on the family incomes and her late husband was a sailor and previously worked other odd jobs to make ends meet. Now the stall is run by her two sons who cook the food and she usually will help out at the stall by chopping up the food. She even mentions that she don’t want to retire first because she wants to help out the stall to lighten her son workload.
