Phuket Allow Vaccinated Foreign Visitor Entry From July To Stimulate Back the Economy and Tourism Sector

Phuket’s Deputy Governor, Pichet Panapong announced that the infectious diseases’ committee has approved the proposal of allowing vaccinated foreign tourist to visit Phuket on July 2021 after Phuket has been not having any new Covid-19 cases for 89 days as it is urgently need for foreign tourist to help stimulate the economy and tourism sector.
They even have over 1 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines ready to inoculate the local population to follow with the compliance Sandbox scheme which is a new pilot program to reopen Phuket and other destination to foreign visitor.
The sandbox program will allow those tourist movement being tracked using the Covid-19 tracing mobile application (ThailandPlus) while on the island and other measure such as vaccine certificate, vaccine passport or IATA travel pass and taking a PCR test at the airport.
The government is expected to allow tourist who have been vaccinated to visit Phuket without undergoing the mandated quarantine period from July onwards. THe Minister of Tourism and Sports, Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn also said that other than Phuket, Pattaya will also following the same pilot programme too.
