Boon Lay Charity Shop Offers Residents In Need With Free Food and Items Every Month

A small charity-run shop in Boon Lay is allowing residents who need help during the pandemic period to shop for food items free. This charity organisation Food is from the Heart and OCBC Bank and this shop is located at Block 176 Boon Lay Drive which it open on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday frmo 9.30 am to 12.30 pm.

This shop operates on free concept for those who in need and they can choose 12 food items from the shop montly, this food items includes staples, canned food, bread spreads, biscuits, oil and condiments. So far the shop has started serving 350 household and it is aim to serve 1,000 household in Boon Lay and the neighbouring area by the end of 2021.
The shop is officially open on 24 March by Minister of National Development and Minister-in-charge of Social Services and Integration Desmond Lee and Eric Phua, Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth and the Ministry of Social and Family Development.
