WFH Is No Longer Default, Social and Recreational Gathering Allowed with Limits to Eight Persons

The Ministry of Health has announced in a virtual press conference on Mar 24, where Singapore will start to shift from the working from home (WFH) to a more flexible and hybrid working arrangement after the discussion between Ministry of Manpower (MOM), National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) and Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF) have reviewed the safe management measure at workplace and announced this new steps. The new shift will mean:
- 75 percent of employees will be able to go to workplace at any one time from the current 50 percent.
- Split team arrangement are no longer mandate, but companies can continue on such arrangement
- Current time of an employee spend at workplace will also be lifted
Other than this, social and recreational gatherings will be permitted but limited to a group size of only eight person. While due to the higher risk of transmission when people are unmasked during meals time, companies should avoid holding events over meal times as far as possible. If the virus resurge again, MOH will reintroduce a more stringent measurements.
