Godzilla vs Kong, A Movie Which Has Epic Fight Scene But Nothing More
SOURCE: SYFY WIRE
SOURCE: COMIC BOOK MOVIE
With the earlier blockbuster movie from Synder Cut of Justice League. Another big-screen movie is the huge big badass fight scenes brawling between two gargantuam creatures of Godzilla and Kong where the director, Adam Wingard who has made the horror home invasion film “You’re Next”, some subpar and poorly known film like “Blair Witch” and the “Godzilla vs Kong” is Wingard’s first directed blockbuster movie. This move which features Alexander Skarsgård, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Shun Oguri (小栗旬), Eiza González, Julian Dennison, Kyle Chandler, Demián Bichir, and Kaylee Hottle, where the actors somehow give you a feeling that they did their best with their performance especially actor Alexander Skarsgård stood out the most but he wasn’t some alpha male lead or acting tough. Dr. Natahan Lind seems like the coward role in this move and Rebecca Hall with her stunning performance as Dr.Ilene Andrews, along with the deaf child actress Kaylee Hottle who plays as a young orphan Iwi child named Jia.
Durig the fiths scene, you might notice that the soundtrack wasn’t properly utilised which is the destruction and explosion sound becomes more massive it might be even more satisfying. The movie which promised action-packed fun has one major problem where the human characters seem are so pointless and cliche. Millie Bobbie Brown’s character, Madison Russel somehow feels irrelevant to the story where her whole reason was there to prove that Godzilla isn’t evil and that about it and Kyle Chandler as Madison’s father which his only traits is to be overly concerned about his daughter.
Another issue with the move is the lack of racial diversity as the movie just reeks of white heroism while the two non-white characters in this film were Bernies Hayes and Shun Oguri’s Ren Serizawa which the movie was based on a Japanese monster icon, however, the Japanese or Asian characters seems to be shadowed out from this movie. With the movie kind of predictable which both opponents never win or lose and Godzilla and King Kong fighting each other in the city of Hong Kong, resulting in the destruction of buildings, skyscraper and roads, but somehow the aftermath of the whole scene are somehow disappointed.
However, Godzilla vs Kong is a great film which serves its purpose of presenting the audience with the awesome fighting scene between the two beasts, but unfortunately, the human characters in the movie were a major issue.
