There are a lot of weird things or somehow, we can say that there are a certain group of people are over-smart. These folks are so daring that they can do anything just to gain some good discount or benefits. As Taiwanese people love salmon a lot and recently a two-day promotion for free sushi by Japanese Katen Sushi Chain Shushiro creating something rather bizzare where customer with the characters of “Gui Yu” which means Salmon in their identity card can claim all-you-can-eat sushi meal for a table of six.

Due to this, over 150 – 200 people rushed to the government office to change their name to have this Salmon related name such as Salmon Love Taiwan, Salmon Fried Rice, Salmon Price and more. A student from souther Kaoshiung managed to eat sushi worth of NT$7,000 (S$330) after changing his name. While another 29-year-old man changed his name to “Chen loves Taiwan, abalone, tuna, salmon, snow crab, sea urchin, scallop, lobster and beef, the Mayfull, Palais de Chine, Regent, Hilton, Caesar Park, Hotel Royal” as to prepare for future promotion as such happening again.
But little did they know, every single Taiwanese citizen can only change their name 3 times in total, and there is where a man named Chang who might be stuck with Salmon forever when he changed his name to Salmon Dream and only to realise that he has maxed out his chance which apparently from a happy free flow promotion he ended up feeling remorse when he entered the restaurant for his free sushi meal.
Perhaps the sacrifice this young lad can teach us is, sometimes there are a thing we can’t simply change or just don’t try to sacrifice it for some sushi. So now he has become the first family surname of Salmon all by himself and leaving his family of Chang in the history. LOL!~
