Nurul Delights’ is the second generation owner, Mohamed Fadli bin Basir, 41, says he has not raised his prices for the past 10 years. In the past, when Fadli’s parents started the Nurul Delights in 2001, they serve their dishes at only $1.50 each, then slowly increase it to $1.80, $2, $2.30 and now $2.50 which is due to the rising ingredient costs and inflation. But they are keeping everything low because their profit margin is not much but they aren’t going for the profit here. Where Fadli’s mother mentioned that they are trying to ensure the residents supporting them in the past did felt the burden.

Other than this, they also own a Nurul Pasar Mini next door which has been around for 32 years and it was named after Fadli’s younger sister Nurul where they sells a range of wet and dry ingredients like poultry, veggies, frozen food and spices. And there are another Nurul outlets which is run by Fadli’s sister-in-law where they have almost identical name but their menu is slightly different where they have fancies dishes like Ayam Penyet ($4.50), Laksa ($3.50), Nasi Sambal Goreng ($3.50) and Nasi Campur (Indonesian-style mixed rice). But you can still find the Nasi Lemak going for the same price here.
