When it comes to animal cruelty, it is weird that there are still some people out there who will go extra miles just to torture these poor animal just because they are making some ruckus in their daily lives. As on 10 March, a resident in Blk 106, along Jalan Bukit Merah spot a scary sight when a pigeon were found hanged to death with blood mark dripping into the floor.
A resident there mentioned that some resident on the second and third floor have not been happy with pigeons lingering in the ledges of these levels due to food throw down from other storeys and this is common where there are elders living here will feed these pigeons. However, there are punishment for animal cruelty which Under the Penal Code, first-time offenders found guilty of animal cruelty face a fine of up to S$15,000, imprisonment for up to 18 months, or both. Repeat offenders face a fine of up to S$30,000, imprisonment of up to three years, or both.
