Someone Shocked When a Cup of Hot Water Cost 60 cent at People’s Park Centre
Some patrons might kindya used to ordering a hot cup of plain water and mix their own drinks such as those 3in1 coffee or tea. However, would you pay $0.60 for a cup of plain water at People’s Park Centre. Some netizens find it is acceptable while some didn’t. As Ms Wang, 66 years old told that she was having some tea with some friend at a food centre located on the ground floor of People’s Park Centre and she purchases a cup of hot water from the drink stall to only realise that it cost her $0.60.
She said that she is a regular patron and the tea usually cost slight over a dollar so she didn’t expect the hot water to be so expensive, where a large cup of hot water will cost $0.40 at a food court chain and coffee shop will charge for $0.30. Another diner who was interviewed also felt that the $0.60 of hot water was too expensive and he would not buy it if he knows it earlier.
A visit to the two food centres on the ground floor of People’s Park Centre found that both drinks stalls charged $0.60 for hot water. However, cold water costs $0.60 at one stall and $0.80 at the other stall. A worker at the second stall explained that this is because the cold water was packed in large plastic cups and came with ice cubes.
