Young 16yo Pro MMA Fighter Victoria Lee Is Another Rising Star After Older Sister Angela Lee
On 26 February 2021, Victoria Lee has marched down the One Championship’s ramp on the cage and this 16-year-old fiery look little girl who goes against Thai fighter Sunisa Srisen and under three rounds of five minutes, and won her fight with Sunisa Srisen. The fight which started with the Thai’s aggressive punch on Lee and also manage to get Lee grounded by a Judo Style arm and head throw. However, when Srisen attempted to execute the throw on a second time, Lee countered by a furious toss and manage to go for a choke on Srisen. Which then left Srisen no choice but to tap out and ending the fight.
Lee who have been gearing up for her debut since she officially becomes a One Championship competitor in Sept 2020 and in January 2021, Srisen was confirmed as Lee’s first opponent and the family began putting together a game plan for the fight. And Lee has benefit of being guided by two time championship coach, her father, Ken.
Plus, Lee grew up in martial arts, coached by her Singaporean father and Korean mother at the family’s gym United MMA in Hawaii and Lee claiming the 2019 International Mixed Martial Arts Federation Junior World Championship, two Pankration Junior World Championships, and a 2019 Hawaii State Wrestling Championship. Plus, with an older sister Angela, Lee was just a younger and faster version of Angela.
Despite her pedigree, the announcement of Lee’s signing with One Championship as a professional fighter drew criticism and questions about whether a 16-year-old should be engaging in such a brutal sport.
