Teenage girl’s beheading spurs calls for ‘honour killings’ law in India
A video shocked the India after a man named Sarvesh Kumar, where he is holding the severed head of his 17-year-old daughter and the man apparently found out that his daughter is having a relationship with a youth which he did not like and he has used an axe to decapitate his daughter head to save her. The man who is a vegetable vendor from Pandeytara village who has walked around 2 km to turn himself in to the police station.
The man who executed the plan when he found her alone at home, locked her in a room and started to behead her with a sharp object and the state where the man’s village is located has the highest number of crimes against women in 2019 and honour killings are used to describe murders by family members for being in a relationship.
