PUB Investigating a company that Sells $2,500 water heater with numerous defects
PUB Singapore’s National Water Agency are investigating a company that sold a water heater for $2,500 after a customer has revealed numerous defects in the installation work. Currently, PUB is investigating on the company whether they have a licensed plumber to carry out the installation. The customer was advised to engage a licensed plumber to carry out the rectification works.
Only licensed plumbers are allowed to carry out regulated water services and sanitary plumbing work which including the installation of storage water heater under the home. Since then, PUB said that they have took enforcement action against 40 companies or individuals every year form 2018 to 2020 to carrying out unlicensed plumbing work and the penalties for such offences carries a maximum fine of up to $1,000, a jail terms of up to three years or both.
