72 percent of Malaysians says they cut down on sugar in order to lead healthier lifestyles
In January 2021, there are study published by market research as Malaysian has come out on top globally for the highest of reporting weight loss during the Covid-19 pandemic. Where the study were covered by 22,008 people in 30 countries, it focuses on the impact of COVID-19 on dietary-related health choices.
The countries surveyed include: Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, France, Germany, Great Britain, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, Peru, Poland, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Sweden, Turkey, and the U.S.
As 75 percent of adults reported changes on their weight, exercise, alcohol consumption, smoking and more as the pandemic began. Where with Malaysia tops out on the list with 36 percent of respondents saying they lost weight during the COVID-19 pandemic. Trailing Malaysia in weight loss are Peru (28 percent) and South Africa (26 percent). Only 24 percent of Singaporeans reported any weight loss.
Plus, Malaysia also top for weight loss on their decrease in sugar intake too, as 72 percent of Malaysians says they cut down on sugar in order to lead healthier lifestyles.
