Uncle Voluntarily Cleans Table At Telok Blangah Market, Resident Thanks Him With a Small Angpao as Gratitude
While some Singaporeans are left out of work recently due to the pandemic.. And we just love markets and kopitiams to lepak or sit down to relax awhile after a half day walking around and enjoy a clean place of kopitiam when we are paying them a visit. As a resident who visited Telok Blangah Market were surprised with the rows of clean tables which turns out that an elderly uncle has been helping to cheal up to tables with his own accord.
Because of this, the resident share this to Facebook to share the wholesome encounter. The man is so grateful towards the uncle that he decided to give the uncle an angbao as a sign of appreciation and in uncle seriously keep the table clean all the time, plus don’t forget that now is still the pandemic time. And usually the workers will only be coming in around 7am and usually the tables will be left over with piles of leftover food and cutlers and beer bottles which is left over by the late night patrons. But for the past few days it has been a column of clean tables.
This morning, the resident spotted the person responsible for the clean tables — a limping uncle moving around the market, clearing tables of food and used tissues. He even collected the trays and cutlers, stacking them neatly at the tray return stations. After they approach the uncle, it is learned that the uncle is actually a nearby resident and he decide to make himself useful after he has lost his job recently and help clean the market before the cleaners arrives.
