SpaceX is Going For 3rd High Altitude Flight of its Starship Rocket after The 2 Blew Up Earlier
SpaceX is preparing another new Starship prototype to ten of thousands feet into the air early as this week when the challenge is to launch it and landing it back on the group which the maneuver has ended in explosion both time on the earlier attempt. This round, SpaceX founder Elon Musk has estimated the 3rd prototype will have a 60% chance of successful landing.
The prototype represents two part system which is the 23-story booster called Super Heavy would help the Starship fly towards the orbit and Elon Musk’s long terms vision is for the system to be able to fly astronauts to the moon and power hypersonic travel on Earth as they are planning to build 1,000 starships in order to carry people and cargo to Mars.
But the SpaceX has to figure out how to land the rocket since it is critical to make the system reusable and with the reusability, it could help Starship slash the cost of reaching space 1,000 fold. The newest prototype is called Starship serial No. 10, or SN10. It’s not yet clear precisely when SpaceX plans to attempt its test flight, but Musk said on Sunday that there’s a “good chance” of launch this week.
