Enjoy a 1-Day Itinerary at Singapore Discovery Center with AR Exhibition, 4D simulation ride and more
If you are unsure about what to do for the upcoming weekend of the Total Defence day then check out the Singapore Discovery Centre reopened after six months of renovation and now there are several unique programs which is running in conjunction with the Total Defence Day and for those you are keen to discover in Singapore, here is a one-day itinerary at the centre to help you enjoy these new features.
First you can enjoy the Total Defence Exhibits titled as RE:OUR SCARS where this exhibition run from 11am to 7.30 pm on Mondays to Thursday and from 10am to 10pm on Fridays to Sundays. Where you can find events such as Japanese Occupation, Konfrontasi, Covid-19. There will be guided tours will be held for these exhibits at specific timing for those who are keen to gain deeper insights. Note that the tours are held only on Feb. 20, 21, 27 and 28, at 11am and 4pm with Admission is free. Each session is limited to 40 pax.
And if you are hungry, you can check out the Wild Thyme Café where it has a menu designed by local celebrity chef Charlie Tham and you can also find other Hainanese chicken curry rice, beef casserole with butter rice, seafood hor fun and fish and chips. You can also enjoy the N.E.FLIX programme which features two films that are run for 25 minutes long. The first film titled as Gallant and the second is SQ117. Both films will be shown on the following dates: Feb. 20, 27 and 28. and Gallant will be shown at 1pm and second film is at 2.45pm.
You can alsohead to the XD theatre where an exciting 4D simulation ride that involves motion, special effects and soud applied to short animated features and run for about five minutes. The Total Defence simulation ride will be held on Feb. 20, 21, 27 and 28, at a 30-minute interval, from 11am to 9pm. A maximum of eight people are allowed for each session.
While if you are keen on something abit more challenging and intense than check out the Black Lake Laser Battlefield which is the first laser tag arena in Singapore to use projection mapping to create an arena environment for the gameplay. Gameplay lasts for about 30 minutes, with each game costing S$12 (for children aged seven to 12) and S$15 (13 years old and above). Players must be seven years of age and above. There will be also a Black Lake Facility which is the largest multistory escape room attraction where it has a total of 13 rooms covering four themed chapters intervened in one storey. Each escape room game costs S$24 (for children aged from three to 12) and S$30 (13 years old and above). Each game runs for a total of 60 minutes. Children under 13 years old are encouraged to be accompanied by an adult. Book your tickets here!
The last light which there will be a mixed media drama show at 5pm where you can enjoy a unique 20 minutes long interactive drama show about the importance of National Service at the center’s interactive multimedia theater. This show screens on Feb. 20, 21, 27 and 28. It also screens at two timings each day – 2pm and 5pm. Each time slot has a limit of 45 pax.
If you have children then you can drop in the coloring craft which is a craft program titled Salute Singapaw where it features a little mascot, Singapaw, which visitor can dress up in various uniforms in recognition of their hardwork. You can also bring your handiwork back home and the programme runs from 2pm-7pm on weekdays and 11am-7pm on weekends and public holidays.
