A teacher in South Sulawesi, Indonesia has been fired after she just posted her salary with no ill intentions on social media where she has served the school for 16 years and the paycheck which was for 4 months of works where only a mere of Rp700.000 or approximately $66. As the report by Indonesian news portal Detik, the 34 years old teacher, Hervina has served at Sekolah Daerah Negeri 169 Desa Sadar since 2005 and the remote school only had 3 teachers.
Hervina said that she never intended to complain or belittle the amount of salary she has been receiving from the school instead it was a genuine expression of gratitude towards the school. And she is thankful as she has owned someone Rp500.000 which she can finally repay the person. However, after the posting went live, Hervina received multiple calls from the principal which she didn’t notice and she even received an angry WhatsApp message from the principal saying that “Find some other schools that can pay you more money and from now on don’t come to work and take a break from teaching”.
Because of the story, netizen has started a petition to help Hervina to find a better school to work and lets hope that Hervina has a better happy ending as no teacher deserves to be treated this way.
