LTA takes Action against Car Owner Who Always Create Loud Daily Boom Noise from Exhaust on 5am

The owner of the Loud vehicle

The Land Transport Authority has taken action against a car owner for an exhaust related offense where a video of an altercation featuring the vehicle surfaced online as the driver of the Mitsubishi Lancer was accused on camera by a member of the public of creating unnecessary noise at 5am daily where the exhaust system on his vehicle which were left running in the multi storey car park along Meiling streets.

As in the video where both the parties exchanges words between the muscular looking driver and the man who is filming the confrontation was shared on social media where the man advised him to not leave his engine on as it was loud and the drive apparently don’t care and doesn’t accept the feedback. From the video, later on the owner of the car even mentioned back that he will report the guy to police and somehow a photo appear to show response from LTA to a complaint regarding the Mitsubishi Lancer owner.

As in Singapore, vehicles’ exhaust system can only be modified with LTA approval and Any person who is convicted of an illegal modification can be fined up to S$2,000 or jailed for up to three months, for the first offense. Repeat offenders can be fined up to S$5,000 or jailed up to six months. In addition, if a vehicle is found with a tampered engine, it will need to be deregistered and the owner may not be granted the rebates for the residual Certificates of Entitlement (COE) and Preferential Additional Registration Fee (PARF), if any.
